Strong relationships have already been established with CAFIU (Chinese Association for International Understanding. This Committee manages the relationship between Rotary in New Zealand and CAFIU and explores the opportunities that exist for humanitarian support in China.

China has many opportunities for Rotary and Rotarians to support the RI President John Kenny’s objectives in Water, Literacy and Health & Hunger.

Provision of resources for the new Zha Shui School has been the result of assessment of opportunities in 2005 and 2006 resulting in matching grant applications with The Rotary Foundation and partnering with the Rotary Club of Tsim Sha Tsui in Kowloon, Hong Kong.

During the 2010-11 Rotary year, an opportunity exists for clubs in RI District 9940 to sponsor and assist with the implementation of Vocational Friendship visits in association with CAFIU and Shaanxy Province.
