The Wellington Headquarters of the Red Cross and Rotary District 9940 are collaborating to provide executive volunteers to assist the Red Cross in the event of a regional emergency or national disaster. Participating Rotarians will be rostered to answer telephone calls and record information necessary for rescue teams to be deployed where the need is greatest following major event. Volunteers will be given two hours of training and hopefully will be on call for an emergency that never occurs. The Rotary Club of Wellington Central is serving as the liaision between the Red Cross and Rotary District 9940.
