RSPP is a new programme in District 9940 where we are looking to assist the prevention of suicide in all age groups.

Rotary does recognise that our future depends on our investment in the next generation – young people and their fundamental needs in health, human values, education and self development and we are committed to assist where possible to help with these issues. However, in recent years, the emphasis in NZ suicide prevention has been almost exclusively in the area of youth.

This programme is designed to assist all age groups because the majority (75%) of those dying by suicide in New Zealand are not youth but are adults aged 25 and older.

We would like to make a difference with the assistance of clubs within the District

The programme will seek funds from Rotary clubs, the community and corporate sector to assist in the provision of community and professional educational programmes.
