Life Education visits schools by Invitation. It does not receive government funding and has been operating In New Zealand for 20 years.
The work of the Trust is not rehabilitation, but the education of young people focussing on:
Nineteen learning modules are delivered by trained teachers from mobile classrooms.
Life Education is a valuable health based teaching resource that adds value by being linked to the curriculum with factual information delivered in an innovative, hi-tech mobile classroom.
Rotary has been the catalyst for starting many Life Education Community Trusts. The greatest need is not money but people - those with the drive, commitment and passion to see our children enjoy a better world. Self esteem, respect and kindness are values the Trust’s nationally recognised mascot Harold the Giraffe promotes to all children.
In June 2008, the NZ Council for Educational Research (NZCER)completed an evaluation of the Life Education programme in NZ. To download a copy of the report click here.
