ProDrive is a project coordinated by the Rotary Club of Feilding. Funding is by way of the Feilding club seeking a donation of $500.00 per club per Rotary year for this very beneficial project based programme. The aim of the project is to reduce the road toll by teaching a structured programme which is offered FREE to high school students, who hold a minimum of a learners licence, at every secondary school in New Zealand approximately once every 12 months. The programme is a simple, but carefully crafted, curriculum that addresses the mystery of why so many of our drivers lose control of their vehicles at comparatively modest speeds and under good road conditions. Experienced motorsport drivers are used to instruct and teach the safety message. Some 36,000 students have already benefited. The Prodrive Trust is run and administered by the Motorsport Association of New Zealand. The donations from clubs play an important part in ensuring that the programme meets its objective of “Preventing teenagers from killing themselves”.
